What is French Information Resource Centre (FIRC)?

The Alliance Française de Trivandrum has a French Information Resource Centre that provides the only exclusive French library of books and multimedia collections in the state of Kerala. With a collection of over 2500 documents, this becomes "The Window to Contemporary France" in Kerala. FIRC is a data bank and specialized library with French and English books on and related to France. FIRC Trivandrum has two micro specialty fields: - Geography/Tourism & Stage Arts.

The Indo-French Link

The Indi-French link is naturally central to our interest. What if the document you need is not here, but available at an other Alliance? Simple! As for accessing the resources from other Alliances, you can identify where the document of your requirements is located - through our Union Catalogue: http://firc.paprika.net/opacweb and use the inter library borrowings application form. And the cost? Just the shipment charge will be levied on you. Rules of lending are the same as with the documents at your own Centre.

Thus in reality, the resources at FIRC Trivandrum are much more than what it seems: we are a big network!

Fonds Tournants

We give added value to our members by an interesting facility of a touring collection. The collections that come under the domains of music, films and books, stop by at each Alliance for a period of three months. Here they can be borrowed by members. They are a lot of fresh resources in English. So don't miss them!
