Diplôme Supérieur d'Etudes Françaises Modernes   DS
The Diplôme Supérieur Langue et Culture Françaises (DSLCF) certifies that the French-learner is able to use French linguistic structures with fluency and ease.
» It shows that the learner can adapt his or her usage to a given social situation and participate in discussions and debates in a socially acceptable fashion.
» It also shows that the learner can use the language in both flexible and creative ways, and can react appropriately to either predictable or unpredictable situations, producing long and complex discourses about them.
At this stage, the French-learner has proven his or her ability follow a theoretical course at a university level.

THE MAKE UP OF THE DSLCF
The DSLCF consists of 3 group tests lasting 3 hours 45 minutes and an individual one lasting 40 minutes:

» Test 1- (1 hour - 40 points)
Oral comprehension and written account:
You will hear a recording three times, take notes and write a written account.

» Test 2- (2 hours - 60 points)
Written comprehension and expression
Cultural knowledge:
- Comprehension questions on a document.
- Written commentary guided by questions.
- Reading and analysis of documents.

» Test 3- (45 min - 40 points)
Command of the language:
Four tasks about the workings of the language, derivations, transformations and the different levels of French.

» Test 4 - individual
(40 min - 60 points)
Oral expression and cultural knowledge:
Commentary on a document guided by questions (preparation: 20 min, oral examination: 20 min)
