The galette des rois (king-cake) is a type of cake associated with Christmas traditions in a number of countries. In France, it is popular in January. The cake is made with frangipane and has a small trinket inside. The person who gets the piece of cake with the trinket is crowned as the king or the queen of the feast and is given a paper, plastic, or costume jewelry crown. Who will be the king/queen of Alliance Française de Trivandrum? Wait till 19 January and get your tastebuds ready for a nice treat!

Wine workshop By Bruno Monange

This is a journey from the wine orchard to the wine bottle. Bruno Monange will describe the technical aspects about processing wine, how to choose it and how to drink it. Social aspects like the relevance of wine in religious rituals (especially for Christians) will also be part of his presentation.Our lecturer, who is also a doctor, will not forget to emphasize the side effects of wine in case of light or strong intoxication. The workshop will end up with a wine tasting session in a French way.Bruno Monange is a doctor, traveller, volleyball player and skier. He also works as a renovator of typical French houses. A connoisseur of wines, Bruno Monange owns a small vineyard in Burgundy where he produces 160 liters of wine every year. His trip to India is also aimed at contributing to humanitarian work for a NGO based in Karnataka.
