CERTIFICATES & DIPLOMAS

Likewise, students may also appear for the CCIP (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris) examinations, also conducted every May and December.

The DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) & DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) examinations, created in 1985, are the first diplomas in French as a foreign language with national acceptability. The Ministry of National Education in France officially issues them. Around 80 countries are already participating in these exams.

The DELF first level corresponds to the acquisition of fundamentals of the French language: aptitude to communicate in French in various day-to-day situations.

The DELF second level corresponds to the study of these fundamentals in greater depth: it includes a basic knowledge of French civilisation and a first step towards the specialised discipline chosen by the candidate.

The DALF corresponds to the perfection of the language with the aim of pursuing university studies; a student with DALF is equipped to pursue courses at the university level in France in any discipline chosen.
Their successful completion exempts the candidate from the linguistics entrance test in all French universities. These are the equivalent of TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language.

The Alliance Française de Delhi, thus far, offers facilities to take exams only for the DELF first level AND SECOND LEVEL.

The institution offers facilities to take the following exams from the Alliance Française of Paris - Diplôme de langue, Diplôme supérieur, CCIP exams, DELF, DALF and the Teacher's Training programme and TEF.

In order to acquire teaching techniques in French as a foreign language, a training programme or Stage de Formation is organised from time to time for an intensive 2 weeks. New Delhi organises the training programme for all the Alliances in the Northern Region in January and July every year. Eligibility for this programme necessitates a post-graduate degree in French from a recognised Indian University or an Advanced Diploma (DS) from an Alliance Française. Participants to this programme are selected after written and oral screening and thereafter imparted training on various aspects of teaching French as a foreign language. The best candidates are absorbed as trainee teachers by the Alliance Française subject to availability of vacancies.
