It is made up by its own revenues (generated by classes, cultural activities…) and grants (coming from institutional organizations as well as private partners). The extent of each one of these is variable depending upon the size of the alliance française and the projects. These are of three kinds: _ Annual grants: Coming from the MEA, these bring forth a financial contribution earmarked for the development of cultural and artistic activities and the organization of teachers' training programs. _ Project based subsidies: Also originating from the MEA, via the cultural service, these are specific grants meant for the organization of cultural or artistic tours, setting up of EduFrance desks, organization of forums for the promotion of higher studies in France, financial aid for training of teachers in France, organization of tours for scientific conferences, purchase of books for the library, training of course coordinators. _
Financial aid from the DGAF*: These grants act as supplementary aid for
certain special operations such as artistic tours, urgent equipment and
renovation of class rooms, on-going teachers' training programs, the Internet
site of the alliances. Their share in the budget of the alliances is variable
depending upon the size and the projects.
